Cuzo Cuzo Machu Picchu

Dec 12, 2012 Lima:

  • Arriving at Lima Airport, you will be welcomed by an English speaking guide and transferred to your 4 star Del Pilar Hotel located in Mariaflores, for a night stay.

Dec 13, Lima-Cusco:

  • In the morning our staff will transfer you to the airport where you will take one-hour flight to the capital of the Incas. Upon your arrival in Cusco, the ancient capital of the Incas, we greet you at the airport and transfer you to the luxury 5 star Monasterio Hotel, the hallowed colonial San Antonio Abad seminary, built more than 300 years ago. You will be welcomed with a comforting cup of hot coca tea and escorted to your deluxe room. Overnight in a deluxe room with oxygen enrichment system to help you acclimatize to the high altitude in Cusco( 11,000 feet – 3352.80 meters)

Dec 14 Cusco City Tour:

  • In the morning a private city tour of Cusco, this tour includes, The Cathedral, Qoricancha, temple of the Sun, the most important of Inca ceremonial sites. Later you will continue to the most important site of Sacsayhuman, Tambomachay, Qenqo and Puca Pucara. We return to the hotel.

Dec 15 Sacred Valley

  • After breakfast and leaving Cusco in the rear view mirror, we travel in a private van over a low pass then down to the famous Sacred Valley of the Incas. The scenery is unsurpassable, close and distant snow peaks glistening in the sun. Visit the ancient Pisaq market, where many of the local Indians sell their hand made textiles. Lunch at the local hacienda restaurant and continue to Ollantaytambo the major Inca temple/fortress. Probably built by the great Inca ruler, Pachacuti in the 1460s, it was the site of Hernando Pizzaro’s defeat by Manco Inca in 1536. We have ample time to examine the complex and ponder its many mysteries before returning to Cusco and visit the traditional market town of Chinchero. Return to your hotel.

Dec 16 Cusco – Machu Picchu:

  • After breakfast transfer to Poroy, a short distance from Cusco for the Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes. Spectacular journey through a changing landscape while guests enjoy brunch. After the steep climb out of Cusco, the train descends into the Scared Valley, passing lush fields and colorful villages in the foothills of the Andes. From there, the journey is highlighted by wonderful vistas of the mountains and the beautiful Urubamba River, which runs through the Scared Valley. Afterward we’ll take a 20 minute bus ride up to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival check-in for a one night stay at Santuario Hotel. After a private guided tour, our guide will explain you the history and the myths that surround this archeological wonder Macnu Picchu! The famous lost city of the Inca is one of the most magical and mysterious places on earth. Stand 2,430m above sea-level in the middle of a tropical mountain forest. In an extraordinarily beautiful setting, it was probably most amazing creation of the Inca Empire at its height its giant walls, terraces and rams seen as if they have been out naturally in the continuous rock escarpments. The natural setting on the eastern slopes of the Andes encompasses the upper Amazon basin with its rich diversity of flora and fauna, the site is frequently shrouded in misty clouds pierced by powerful equatorial sun.

Dec 17 Machu Picchu - Cusco

  • Early in the morning opportunity to enjoy a wonderful sunrise over Machu Picchu and some personal time for private reflection (second entrance fees by your own). In the afternoon back to Cusco. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Reception at Monasterio Hotel.

Dec 18 Cusco - Lima

  • After breakfast transfer to the airport, fly back to Lima. Reception and transfer to the hotel.

Dec 19 Flight Out

  • Leisurely day with plenty of opportunity for shopping before flight home
